Triterpenoidal Saponins from the Leaves of Kalopanax pictum var. chinense

Abstract

|
One new triterpenoidal bisdesmoside, saponin C (3) were isolated from the leaves of Kalopanax pictum var. chinense along with two known saponins, saponin B (2, sapindoside C) and saponin A (1, sapindoside B). On the basis of chemical and spectral evidences, the structure of a new triterpenoidal saponin has been elucidated to be 3-0-beta-D-glucopyranosyl(1->4)-beta-D-xylopyranosyl(1->3)-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1->2)-alpha-L-arabinopyranosyl-23-hydroxyolean-12-en-28-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1->4)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl(1->6)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl ester.
